Peekaboo is a product of De Wet Holdings Pty Ltd as Trustee for Happy Trust (ABN available on request), operating under the brand Happy Trust at byhappytrust.com.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Peekaboo application at peekaboo.byhappytrust.com and governs the collection, use, and storage of personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

2. Information we collect
We collect personal information that you provide directly when setting up or using Peekaboo:
- Parents' first names and email addresses
- Baby's name and date of birth
- Visit preferences, scheduling rules, and availability windows
- Visitor names and email addresses (provided by you)
- Messages or notes you add to your family's Peekaboo page
- Payment information (processed securely by Stripe — we do not store card details)
We may also collect limited technical information automatically, such as browser type and device type, to help us maintain and improve the service.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect only to operate and improve Peekaboo:
- To create and manage your family's unique Peekaboo page
- To send visit booking confirmations and notifications
- To process payments via Stripe
- To respond to your support requests
- To improve the reliability and features of the service
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating Peekaboo.
4. How we share your information
We share personal information only with the third-party services that power Peekaboo, and only to the extent necessary:
- Supabase — our database provider, used to store your family's data securely
- Stripe — our payment processor, used to handle one-time payments
- Netlify / Cloudflare — our hosting and DNS infrastructure
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We will not share it with any other third party without your consent, unless required by Australian law or a valid legal process.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe and is never stored on our systems.
We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access. No system is 100% secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password if account authentication is required.
6. Data retention
We retain your family's data for as long as your Peekaboo account is active. If you ask us to delete your data, we will do so within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days), unless we are required by law to retain certain records.
7. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your data
- Complain about how we handle your information

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
8. Children's privacy
Peekaboo is designed for use by parents and caregivers of newborns. The service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Baby details (name, date of birth) are provided by a parent or guardian as part of setting up the family's visit page.
9. Cookies and tracking
Peekaboo may use minimal browser storage (such as localStorage) to remember your session preferences locally on your device. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of Peekaboo after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
